My second period is French 1; and I have Madame Hutchison. Madame is a really fun teacher. She makes everything we do in class easier in different ways, and she also makes it interesting. Every two weeks, we get a new song in French that we sing along with every morning. We also have a monthly calendar where we complete one question, spelling, drawing, etc. after the song. After that, we do an activity called "Comment dit-on" with our partner. Then, we log onto Rosetta Stone and complete as much as we can, as long as it is completed at a 85% or higher. At the end of class, we do "Comment dit-on" as a class.
Mardi Gras!
On Mardi Gras, we nominated a king and queen for our class period. Abraham and Kayla won! They both got crowns and beads for winning king and queen! We also had a crepe and Nutella tasting that day, so that is why we are eating in the background.
We have an awesome class this year! I have learned a lot that will help me within my future. I can't wait until next year when I am in French 2. We have all learned a lot not only about the language, but also about the culture of France.

French Cheese Tasting
One thing that we did this past quarter was do a French cheese tasting. I bet you are wondering how we were able to do this, huh? Well, we still did our work while we did this tasting. We also had to bring the supplies ourselves along with our table group. Each month, we have a "mini potluck". This is where you and your group each bring something for the tasting that we do. For example, one month, we did croissants and Nutella because those are both French foods. See, everything we taste is a French food.
I think that this tasting helped me learn more about France's food choices and what they eat commonly. This has helped me better understand their country, language, and their daily methods. I think this will help me later in life because when I visit France, I won't look like I don't know anything. Haha.

Accomplishments of the first semester
Bonjour! Je m'appelle Kaycee. J'aime bien le francais un et Madame Hutchison. Okay, this means: Hello! My name is Kaycee. I really like French 1 and Mrs. Hutchison.
We have accomplished many things in French 1 during the first quarter. We have learned how to greet people, tell them what we like, dislike, etc. We also learned of many different French foods and locations. I am very pleased at how far I have come in French since the beginning of the 2012-13 school year.
In French, we learn how to speak in many different ways. We have conversations with our partners, and we use Rosetta Stone. I am very grateful for Rosetta Stone. This is a $3,000 program, and we are lucky enough to have the chance to use it for free.
This will help me in my future, for I will be able to (hopefully) speck in French fluently when I am finished with the program. I plan on taking four, maybe even five, years of French. All in all, we have accomplished many things during the first quarter.
