Science class is my 4th period, as you can see. The type of science that we will be involved in this year if Life Science. This will include learning about different types of living things, what they eat, where they live, etc. However, we don't get to do as many experiments as Mr. Kirste's class because our room is much much smaller. Therefore, we don't have as many pets to examine. Science is paired up with Computers, here at Computech. As a result, for my class at least, we do not go to science on Tuesdays. Instead, we get a "double-period" on Wednesdays. Which means, we are in science for two periods instead of one.

3rd Quarter Glog In the end of the 3rd quarter, we started this project about domains and kingdoms of science. We had to include information about each domain and each kingdom.
This was a very fun, and it gave us a chance to use an online source to create a "glog" for science. Most of the thoughts and work was done by ourselves, but we could collaborate with our groups. All in all, this was a fun and easy project to do. This project will help me in the long run because I will be able to create a glog at any moment I would like. Also, I will be able to complete it quicker, now that I have done more than one. In conclusion this was a great way to learn several online tricks, but in a way that was fun and gave information about the concept we were learning. |
Edible Cell ^.^
To the left is my group's edible cell. In science, we just finished learning about cells and their organelles/parts. It was a pretty interesting subject because I learned a lot of different things that I never knew. Because of this section, we also did a group project called the "Edible Cell Project". This was a group project and it required many things.
Now Mrs. Poole is questioning whether this project helps us learn the parts and their functions or if it is just a waste of time. I actually had no clue what the parts did or where they were located in the cell. However, after doing the edible cell project, I have a better understanding of the cell organelles and their functions. Although I got my question wrong, I have learned a lot. I had just mixed up two of the cell functions.
I think that the science teachers should continue this project because it really did help me receive a better understanding of the cell organelles and their functions. The other students should get the same opportunity because not only was it educating, it was a fun way to learn about the different parts of a cell and their jobs. All in all, this project is worthwhile, and the science teachers should continue this interesting way of learning the cell organelles and their functions.

Quarter One Project During the end of the first quarter, we started this project about the six characteristics of living things. during this project, we had to include information about each characteristic. We also had to include three pictures, videos, and links.
