On  Wednesday, we went to play Tenaya Middle School.  As you may know, they are our rivals in basketball!  They are always the 2nd best in the district, we are the 1st.  It's always a close game, but we usually pull out a win.  However, this time it was different.  The 8th grade girls lost while the 7th grade girls lost in overtime.  -.- We just didn't play like we normally do.
Most of the time we are good at running our plays, but during this game, we rushed and didn't set up like we should have.  Usually, we set up a really good offense that helps us because it is unexpected, but it just never got set up.  We had a lead the whole entire game until the last 4 SECONDS when they scored and tied it up.  It was unbelievable because several girls just gave up.  In a close game like this one you can't give up or else, once you do, you have already lost.  Anyways, our next game is Monday, here against Awahnee.  Come support the Lady Tigers! :)

On Wednesday February 13th, we beat Wawona Middle School 33-4.  It was a total blowout.  I was actually surprised that they were not that good because usually they are a decent team.  I guess they just didn't have as much experience as us, but anyway we played an okay game.  The reffs weren't very good, however.  Otherwise, we would have won by a lot more.
I am super excited for next week's game because we are playing Tenaya, who are usually a pretty good team.  I can't wait because all the teams we have played so far haven't been very good, but it is still good game experience for our team.  Our 8th grade girls are doing very well, their record is 3-1.  The game they lost to Ft. Miller was a really good game, but the girls just didn't play together.  So, they ended up losing 20-21.  Our next game is February 20th against Tenaya, at Tenaya.

On Wednesday, the Lady Tigers had their first basketball game of the season.  We actually did pretty well considering that we have only been practicing together for two weeks, including this week.  We did really well and worked together.  We played against Kings Canyon, and since my elementary school, Easterby, is just down the street, their basketball team came and cheered for me.  They had made signs for me and everything!
We won 18-11, and the 8th grade girls beat them 14-7.  YES! We DID score more points than the 8th graders.  Coach Sykes was stoked because we played really well, and scored more than the 8th grade team.  I am really excited for our next game, and the season to come!  I can already tell, we are going to do an AWESOME job this year.
