Do you know the difference between asexual and sexual reproduction?  Well, it is quite simple.  Asexual reproduction is when you are able to reproduce with just one living thing.  In asexually reproduced things, they are identical to their one parent.
However, in sexually reproduced organisms, there are two parents.  The two parents reproduce, then the child of the two parents contains both their DNA.  The child organism has half of each of the parents DNA.  You are not able to choose which half of the DNA you get because it just depends on which DNA cells you get from the parents.  That is why some siblings look a lot alike and others look nothing like each other.
Say you have two siblings, and you look like neither of them.  That is because they got the same half of your parents DNA while you got the other half of it.  For example, this is also similar with twins.  You are either Faternal twins and you look alike, or you are Identical and you look alike.
